My Beloved

My Beloved is my first multi-page comic story out in the real world:) This is a contemporary love story, set in Kerala and Bangalore - portraying Annu and Nandu.

Got published in Mantaray's Mixtape #1 in Jan 2013. Billion thanks to Jasjyot for the gorgeous illustrations and Pratheek thomas, for being there, always.

Rajiv Eipe - he does wonders with pencils!!! Ever since I saw Hush, Ever since I met him for the Hush signing event, I am his HUGE Fan :) The more I adore his work, the more and much more I adore his simplicity and humbleness. How soon he turned out to be my good friend and and gave life to this story of mine - NOW SHOWING, NOWHERE TO GO!

 And never believed I could write for comics until this happened.

പിച്ചവയ്ക്കുന്ന പ്രായം,കൊച്ചരിപ്പല്ല് മുളയ്ക്കുന്ന പ്രായം, കൊഞ്ചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രായം, പറയാന്‍ പഠിക്കുന്ന പ്രായം.ഈ പ്രായത്തിലാണ് അവള്‍ക്ക് അമ്മയെ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടത്, ആരുടെയോ കയ്യില്‍ എത്തപ്പെട്ടത്, ക്രൂരമായി പീഡിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്, മരണത്തിന് വഴിപ്പെട്ടത്‌.ഫലക് വെറുമൊരു പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞ് മാത്രമായിരുന്നു.ചോരയും നീരുമുള്ള പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞ്, ഉറക്കെ കരയാന്‍ മാത്രം അറിയുന്ന പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞ്, തെളിമയും വെണ്മയും ഉള്ള പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞ്, സംരക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ ആരുമില്ലാതിരുന്ന പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞ്, ആരൊക്കെയോ ചേര്‍ന്ന് ആക്രമിച്ച പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞ്! കഴുകന്‍കണ്ണുകള്‍ തന്റെ മേലെ പതിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ മഞ്ഞിന്റെ ശോഭയോടെ അവള്‍ മോണകാട്ടി ചിരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാവണം, കൂര്‍ത്തനഖങ്ങള്‍ ആഴ്ന്നിറങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ അവള്‍ വാവിട്ട് കരഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടാവണം, ക്രൂര ധംഷ്ട്രകള്‍ കടിച്ചമര്‍ത്തിയപ്പോള്‍ അവളുടെ കുഞ്ഞിപ്പല്ലുകള്‍ തരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാവണം, മരണത്തെ മുന്നില്‍ കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ മുലപ്പാലിനായി ദാഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാവണം.ഫലക് പോയി,ഞെട്ടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വാര്‍ത്തയായി,വാര്‍ത്തയില്‍ മറ്റൊരു ബലിമൃഗമായി...

ഇന്നും ഞാന്‍ കാത്തിരുന്നു,
നിനക്കായി പ്രാതല്‍ ഒരുക്കി,
നിനക്കായി ഒരുങ്ങി,
നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുക്കി,
നിന്റെ പാട്ട് മൂളി,
നീ എവിടെയാണ്?
ഏതു കോണിലാണ്?
ഏതു താഴ്വരയിലാണ്?
ഏതു ഇരുട്ടിലാണ്?
രാത്രിയെ എനിക്ക് ഭയമാണ്,
ലോകത്തെ എനിക്ക് പേടിയാണ്,
